Background and purpose
The first International Symposium for CestodeZoonoses Control was held in November, 2017 in Chengdu, China. Over 200 participantsjoined the symposium, including experts of echinococcosis and other zoonosis from WHO and13 countries. Together they signed the CHENGDU DECLARATION and established theB&R Network for the Elimination and Control of Echinococcosis and Cysticercosis (BR-NEC).
Based on the outcome of last symposium, this workshop aims to exchange the latest progress onechinococcosiscontrol , treatment and monitoring tools, furtherdiscussthe better strategy of controlling and eliminating at the country level, and the cooperation mechanismbetween countries of the BR-NEC.

Participants
It is expected a total of 60 participants will join this workshop, including expert of health departments and research institutions from Mongolia, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Tanzania, France, the United Kingdom, etc. Meanwhile, Chinese experts, from National Health Commission and the health authorities of Xinjiang, Tibet, Qinghai and Sichuan will participated in this workshop.
Expected outcomes
1. Initiativethe activities for multi-lateral cooperationon echinococcosiscontrol at country level;
2. Develop the pilot proposal for collaborative controlofechinococcosis by apply new tools;
3. Sign thestrategic partnership agreements under BR-NEC framwork.

June 25th: Opening ceremony and keynote speech of the 4thSymposium onSurveillance-Response SystemsLeading to Tropical Diseases Elimination.
The opening of the second workshop on the B&R Network for the Elimination and Control of Echinococcosis and Cysticercosis, review the outcome of the first International Symposium for CestodeZoonoses Control;around 12 presentations on updates the latest progress of echinococcosis control wordwide.
June 26th: Participate in the group or plenary sessions of the 4thSymposium onSurveillance-Response SystemsLeading to Tropical Diseases Elimination.
June 27th (close door session): discuss the work plan on echinococcosiscontrol; visit the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases and the Human Parasite Specimen Museum.
